This Combat Armor Pattern is just perfect for all of your costume projects and is a great way to start crafting! It can be easily adjusted, reshaped and used for as many projects as you want! Just follow the instructions, trace all parts to your favorite material, glue everything together and paint and finish your armor the way you want!
I recommend using either 5mm or 10mm low-density EVA foam (high density works too) as well as contact cement to create these breastplates. Other materials (like Worbla) work as well of course!
All patterns are based on my husband Benni’s size (1.88cm (6.2ft), 79kg (174lbs) 102cm (40.1inch) breast circumference but can be easily altered to smaller or larger sizes by rescaling! You can widen the breastplate by adding a few centimeters at the seams under the arms. I made some of the breastplates with 5mm and some with 10mm EVA foam and glued them together with contact cement. You can find more instructions on how to make costume pieces and props in my tutorial books or on my YouTube channel.
Just use these patterns as a base and add your own designs and details!
